It is more likely to happen that the Toyota Prius comes to your mind when you think about hybrid cars. Though, in recent years, the Toyota Prius has acquired a multitude of competitors. The thing is that they often look more attractive than Prius, but each of them has its pros and cons. Similarly, the Toyota Prius has its pros and cons too. So, let’s take a look at its features and specifications.

    Specs, Performance, and Transmission

This car has an output power rating of about 121 horsepower. In addition to that, it has a 4-cylinder, 1.8-litre, and synchronous motor (with a permanent magnet). The torque rating of this car is 105 lb-ft. This synchronous motor induces the power from a 1.3-kWh lithium-ion battery. The Toyota Prius offers a front-wheel-drive and weighs about 3,075 pounds. This Prius model can accelerate up to 60 within 9.8 seconds.

This 5-seater hatchback has a Continuously Variable Automatic (P112) type of transmission. The hybrid powertrain of the Toyota Prius cannot deliver thrilling, exciting, or even diverting acceleration. Its performance is somewhat unacceptable as many competitors think that the manufacturers sacrificed it chasing the mind-blowing fuel economy.

    Fuel Economy

According to the EPA, the 2021 Toyota Prius shows the thriftiest fuel economy – 53 mpg on the highway and 58 mpg in the city. The other front-drive models of Toyota Prius have a city rating of 54 mpg and a highway rating of 50 mpg. On the other hand, the all-wheel-drive versions of the Toyota Prius have a city rating of 52 mpg and a highway rating of 48 mpg. EPA has confirmed all these ratings of fuel economy.

    Interior and Cargo

There is a lot of room in the Toyota Prius 2021 model. It has a legroom of 42.3 inches in the first row. On the other hand, things are a little narrower in the back row having only 33.4 inches. The cargo room of this automobile is more impressive. It has 24.6-27.4 cubic feet of volume at the backside of the rear seats. If you fold down the seats, this space expands up to 50.7 cubic feet.

    Safety Features

The 2021 Toyota Prius has received a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Also, its 2018 model got Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Some other safety features include:

    • Collision avoidance technologies
    • Lane-departure warning with standard assistance
    • Automatic emergency brakes
    • Adjustable cruise control

    Conclusion

In a nutshell, the 2021 Toyota Prius is a satisfactory vehicle. It offers a smooth ride with comfortable seating and interior. Also, it is one of the most coherent hybrids available in the market. It also features standard infotainment technology and significant safety features. However, some hybrid vehicles are more fun to drive as they offer superior-quality interior components. Nevertheless, you can get your hands on the Prius for the eco-friendly variations.

Was hesitant at first to transfer the deposit for the car, but as it turned out it my worries were unwarranted. Thank you for you honest and genuine experience. Definitely will be buying more cars through you!

In 2019 we bought the first car and it came after two and a half month as planned. Now we are waiting for the fifth and sixth delivery of cars and motorcycles, in total we have bought 12 cars and were not dissatisfied with any of them. Full support with good pictures and documentation on the cars before the auctions have started. After we won the auction, TokyoCarz has directly arranged good logistics with shipping both with RoRo and container directly to us in Sweden. Many thanks for a well done job and we will continue cooperating with you for several years to come. / Anders

It is hard to know who to bid at Japan car auctioneers with. I tried TokyoCarZ when I was travelling overseas. I must admit I was nervous. They made my experience easy and went above and beyond for me. I have since bid with confidence multiple times as they earned my trust.A++++ experience. - Marcus
